Desktop software development for Windows and businesses
Some work still happens best in a desktop application: workstations with dedicated devices, intensive data entry, environments where the connection is not always there. We develop Windows software in .NET/C# and take care of what already exists and needs to be brought up to date.
What we build
- Windows desktop applications in .NET/C#
- Software for offices, counters and operators’ workstations
- Connection to local or central databases and to web services
- Modernisation of existing desktop applications
- Corrective maintenance and new features on software already in use
- Installation packages and an update process
Typical applications
- A management application for an office with intensive data entry
- A workstation application that reads and prints documents or labels
- A legacy program to be moved to a current, supported technology
- A desktop client working together with a web platform and its APIs
How we work
From the problem to the product
- 01
Assessment
We start from the problem: processes, users, the systems already in place and measurable goals.
- 02
Requirements and roadmap
Together we define what to build, in which order and with which priorities, timing and budget.
- 03
UX and architecture
We design interfaces and technical structure, integrations included, before writing code.
- 04
Iterative delivery
Incremental releases you can verify: you watch the product grow and can correct the course.
- 05
Testing, launch and evolution
Testing and go-live, then maintenance and new features guided by how the product is actually used.
What to expect
A Windows application installed and working on the agreed workstations, with a way to distribute updates. Requirements such as offline work or the use of specific devices are assessed case by case before committing: they depend on the drivers and interfaces actually available.
Technologies
- .NET / C#
- Windows
- Relational databases
- REST APIs
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can the software work without a network connection?
A desktop application can be designed to work on local data and synchronise when the connection returns. It is a requirement to be defined at the start, because it affects the architecture.
Can you integrate scanners, printers or other devices?
It depends on the device: we check which drivers, SDKs or protocols the manufacturer provides and verify the integration with a test on the real hardware.
Is it possible to modernise an existing application?
Yes. We start by analysing the current code and data, then decide with you whether to update it step by step or rewrite it, also considering a move to a web application where it makes sense.
